“After a course in mechanical mechanics at ICAM, and a first experience, I returned to eXcent 3 years ago as a calculation engineer. Within a team of 7 people, I work mostly on the tools of the design office of Toulouse. eXcent has very beautiful projects and leads them from study to realization; it’s really interesting to have this global vision of a tooling project. But we also have own customers for whom we only do the math. There are projects in aeronautics, naval, energy, automotive … it brings a great variety in projects! Especially since they are sometimes very technical files with novelties, specific difficulties to overcome … we like to take up this type of challenge at eXcent! “

MISSIONS :

As part of a design project, the Calculation Engineer verifies and validates, based on functional specifications and specifications, the strength of the mechanical assemblies (parts, subassemblies, tools, special machines, etc.).

• Analyzes the technical proposal of the works, as well as the specifications of the client,
• Establishes the assumptions for the calculations to be performed in accordance with the functional specifications.
• Collaborate with the design engineer or the experienced designer to define the optimum geometry.
• Performs the calculations and checks the behavior of the studied part or the subassembly,
• Write the files or the calculation instructions
• Informs the Study Pilot of the progress of the work done: remains to be done in relation to the objectives.

PREREQUISITES :

• Engineer’s degree or Bac + 5 mechanical engineering completed by a first experience validated in calculation activity.
• Strong mechanical skills (modeling, RDM, finite element calculation, materials, plane reading),
• Ability to propose solutions for complex problems.
